DPD & Shipdock Features

Powerful integration features for your Shopify store

DPD Label Printing

Create and print DPD labels from Shopify, one by one or for up to 50 orders in a batch. Labels are PDF files in A6, or four A6 labels on an A4 sheet. Shipdock can also create labels automatically when an order is created or fulfilled. Creating labels requires the Full plan. Cancellation from the app works only for DPD Slovakia, and a sandbox mode is available only for DPD Belgium and Luxembourg.

DPD Pickup Points Widget

Customers choose a DPD pickup point from a list with search by address, city or postcode, with the nearest points first. A Google map can be added with your own Google Maps API key. The selection takes place in checkout on Shopify Plus, and on the Thank-you and Order-status page on other Shopify plans, and is saved to the order.

DPD API Connection

Shipdock connects to your own DPD account through the carrier's API. When the order is fulfilled, the tracking number, carrier name and tracking link are written to Shopify, and Shopify emails them to the customer. Shipdock does not show parcel statuses and sends no tracking notifications. Cash on delivery is not available for senders in Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg, and orders are marked as paid automatically only for DPD in Czechia, Slovakia, Croatia and Slovenia.

Why choose DPD for Shopify

DPD (Dynamic Parcel Distribution) is one of the leading international logistics companies and part of the Geopost group, owned by French postal service La Poste. With over 50 years of history, DPD has established itself as a reliable partner for e-commerce businesses across Europe. The company was founded in 1976 in Germany and has since grown into a global network covering more than 230 countries and territories.

DPD delivers more than 2 billion parcels annually and employs over 120,000 workers worldwide. The company operates modern logistics centers and a large fleet of vehicles, ensuring reliable delivery across all markets it serves. DPD is known for its high first-attempt delivery success rate of over 97%.

Extensive Pickup Point Network

DPD operates one of the densest pickup point networks in Europe with more than 140,000 active locations across 28 countries. The network includes various types of locations for maximum customer convenience:

  • DPD Pickup Shop: partner stores with personal service where customers can collect parcels during opening hours. These are often shops, gas stations, or newsstands located in city centers and suburbs.
  • DPD Pickup Box: self-service lockers available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, located at strategic points such as shopping centers, parking lots, and residential areas for maximum accessibility.
  • AlzaBoxes: through partnership with Alza, customers can use this popular locker network to pick up DPD shipments, significantly expanding delivery options.

The network density ensures that customers have a DPD pickup point within minutes of their home in most European countries.

DPD Predict Service

One of DPD's key innovations is the Predict service, which has revolutionized how customers receive their parcels. With this service, customers receive precise delivery information:

  • 1-hour delivery window: customers know exactly when the courier will arrive
  • Real-time tracking: ability to see the courier's position on a map
  • Flexible redirection: option to change address, date, or delivery method online
  • SMS and email notifications: automatic alerts for every shipment status change

The Predict service dramatically reduces the number of failed deliveries and increases end-customer satisfaction for your e-shop.

Sustainability

DPD is a pioneer in sustainable logistics. The company is committed to achieving carbon neutrality and implements various measures including electric vehicles for urban deliveries, micro-depots in city centers to reduce emissions, and automatic CO2 compensation for all shipments.

Shopify Integration via Shipdock

With Shipdock you connect your own DPD contract to your Shopify store. You create and print PDF labels for a single order or for up to 50 orders at once, customers choose a pickup point in checkout (Shopify Plus) or on the Thank-you page, and the tracking number with the carrier's tracking link is saved to the Shopify order. Cash on delivery is passed to the carrier together with the shipment.

DPD is connected per sender country: Czechia, Poland and Hungary are fully available, while Slovakia, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Croatia and Slovenia are in beta. Cash on delivery is not available for senders in Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg, and labels for DPD Romania cannot be created yet.
