GLS & Shipdock Features
Powerful integration features for your Shopify store
GLS Label Printing
Create and print GLS labels from Shopify, one by one or for up to 50 orders in a batch. Labels are PDF files in A6, or four A6 labels on an A4 sheet. Shipdock can also create labels automatically when an order is created or fulfilled. Creating labels requires the Full plan. In myGLS countries shipments can be cancelled from the app, and a sandbox mode is available for both myGLS and ShipIT.
GLS Pickup Points Widget
Customers choose a GLS pickup point from a list with search by address, city or postcode, with the nearest points first. A Google map can be added with your own Google Maps API key. The selection takes place in checkout on Shopify Plus, and on the Thank-you and Order-status page on other Shopify plans, and is saved to the order.
GLS API Connection
Shipdock connects to your own GLS account through the carrier's API. When the order is fulfilled, the tracking number, carrier name and tracking link are written to Shopify, and Shopify emails them to the customer. Shipdock does not show parcel statuses and sends no tracking notifications. In myGLS countries COD orders are marked as paid automatically after delivery.

Why choose GLS for Shopify
GLS (General Logistics Systems) is one of the largest independent parcel networks in Europe. The company was founded in 1999 and today operates in more than 50 countries worldwide. GLS is known for its reliability, flexibility, and focus on quality services for the e-commerce segment. Unlike many competitors, GLS maintains its independence, allowing it to quickly respond to market and customer needs.
GLS delivers more than 880 million parcels annually and operates a network of over 70 central transhipment hubs and 1,400 depots across Europe. The company employs over 45,000 workers and its fleet includes more than 30,000 vehicles. GLS is among the most reliable carriers with a first-attempt delivery success rate of over 96%.
Pickup Point Network
GLS operates an extensive network of pickup points with more than 40,000 ParcelShops in Europe. The network includes various types of locations strategically placed for maximum customer convenience:
- GLS ParcelShop: partner stores with personal service where customers can collect parcels during opening hours. These include shops, newsstands, and other retail outlets in city centers and suburbs.
- GLS ParcelBox: self-service lockers available 24 hours a day, located at high-traffic areas such as shopping centers and gas stations.
- AlzaBoxes: through strategic partnership with Alza, customers can use this popular locker network for GLS shipments.
FlexDelivery Service
GLS offers the FlexDelivery service, giving customers full control over their parcel delivery. Recipients can easily change delivery date and time according to their needs, redirect the parcel to another address or to neighbors, choose a pickup point instead of home delivery, and track the parcel in real-time via mobile app or website. This flexibility significantly reduces the number of failed deliveries.
E-commerce Services
GLS offers a comprehensive portfolio of services specially designed for the needs of online stores of all sizes:
- GLS ParcelShop: delivery to pickup point with low costs
- GLS Express: express delivery for urgent shipments
- GLS EuroBusinessParcel: international shipping throughout Europe
- Cash on Delivery (COD): payment upon receipt with fast payout
Shopify Integration via Shipdock
With Shipdock you connect your own GLS contract to your Shopify store. You create and print PDF labels for a single order or for up to 50 orders at once, customers choose a pickup point in checkout (Shopify Plus) or on the Thank-you page, and the tracking number with the carrier's tracking link is saved to the Shopify order. Cash on delivery is passed to the carrier together with the shipment.
GLS is connected through myGLS in 7 countries and through ShipIT in 12 countries. Cancelling a shipment from the app and automatic marking of COD orders as paid work only with myGLS.
